About Us
Florist & Flower Farmer
Our passion is growing beauty. Our mission is sharing it.

I'm Marion Butterworth, a florist growing her own flowers. On our family farm in Fauquier, VA, my garden bursts with blooms from April to Oct.

I've been growing and designing flowers commercially for the past 29 years and for the last 5 years in Warrenton, VA.

Back in the day, I hauled harvest buckets to my gardens across Fairfax County VA in our Volvo station wagon. A crew of teenagers, a couple of 4th graders and my husband Bill comprised the team. I sold at two farmers markets and to a handful of florists. That Volvo became known as “Soggy Bottom” because of all the sloshed water.

I no longer do farmers markets and now have reliable, expert help. We live on a farm in Fauquier County next door to our grandkids. With my garden right outside my door, I'm living my dream. I sell most of my flowers to wedding and event designers and the Michelin-starred Inn at Little Washington. I also sell lovingly crafted custom arrangements to folks like you through this website.

We grow more than 75 different kinds of flowers on about a ¼ acre and cut 10s of 1000s blooms each year. It’s hard, physical work. But I'm my own boss, work outside with friends and enjoy creative challenges daily.

Although not certified, I grow organically, always working to improve the environment and our soil. Ours is a symbiotic relationship with nature.

What’s most satisfying about my job is witnessing flowers’ effect on people. No one is ever unhappy when you arrive with flowers. Our blooms do more than decorate a space. They help people connect with nature and express what's in their hearts. That's why flowers show up at all of life’s most important moments. I am grateful I get to share such beauty with others.
